Someone shares a Toutiao video and says it proves an event happened yesterday. You are building a timeline, so a recent share alone is not enough. Video information can help identify the material, while the timing of the depicted event needs separate evidence.
Locate the video rather than a related article
Identify the work from its video link and retain that source. Toutiao articles and videos have different contexts; use the capability for the actual video. Check that the result matches the intended clip rather than another edit circulating in the same discussion. Failed retrieval does not establish that the video never existed.
Separate publication clues from event time
The contract broadly promises work information, not complete filming dates, locations, or original footage. Even an available publication time does not automatically reveal when filming occurred. Watch for independently checkable visual clues. Dates asserted by a title or narrator remain claims to corroborate.
Represent uncertainty on the timeline
If you can establish only that the video was circulating by a certain time, record that observation instead of inventing an event timestamp. Attach the source, your reasoning, and unresolved questions. Editing may omit context or reorder scenes. Successful detail retrieval organizes evidence; it does not authenticate the event or certify its chronology.
