A colleague sends a LinkedIn industry opinion for a client briefing. You have only read a repost summary and do not know whether the author predicts a future change or describes an established event. Retrieve the original material before paraphrasing it.

Confirm the post or article source

The contract accepts full post and article URL forms. Preserve the address and compare the author and text with the intended reference. Several accounts may discuss the same subject. A sharer's commentary should not be attributed automatically to the original author.

Identify the kind of claim

Available details may include text, author, publication time, tags, media, and interactions. Separate personal experience, forecasts, research references, and promotion. A forecast is not an observed fact. Inspect attachments when they carry evidence, and do not treat interaction counts as professional validation.

Preserve qualifications in the briefing

Write a concise paraphrase that retains scope and timing, with a source reference. Trace numerical and causal claims to their supporting evidence rather than relying on a job title. The endpoint does not independently fact-check the argument or provide the author's complete intellectual history. Explain what the author proposes, why it matters to your discussion, and which points remain open instead of presenting an opinion as industry consensus.
