Your partnership archive contains Instagram user IDs, but the person handling follow-up needs current usernames. Searching old names can lead to similar accounts. Retrieve profile information from the stored identifier while preserving the original archive.

Begin with the account identifier

Confirm that the value is a user ID rather than a post Media ID. Keep it unchanged, then add the current username in a new column with the lookup date. Full names and display labels help people read the sheet, but they are not unique identity keys.

Interpret visibility and verification separately

The contract lists profile details, counts, private-account status, and verification status. Leave absent fields unresolved. A private flag does not provide access to private posts, and verification is not an endorsement of commercial performance. Profile information does not reveal willingness to collaborate or private contact details.

Refresh the display without rewriting history

Preserve the name used when past communication occurred, alongside the newly observed profile. If an old link no longer works, provide a reviewed current reference. Follower and media counts are present snapshots, not evidence of growth during an earlier campaign. Deliver a dated identity mapping that colleagues can trace, rather than a sheet whose history vanished under the latest values.

Request URL and parameters

GET https://api.trmesh.com/openapi/api/v1/instagram/v1/user_id_to_username

Parameter Type Required Meaning
user_id string Yes User ID

Run the Python example

Install requests and set TRMESH_API_TOKEN in your environment. Replace the sample identifiers with the public object you intend to inspect. Example IDs may no longer be available.

import os
import requests

# Read your own developer key from the server environment.
url = "https://api.trmesh.com/openapi/api/v1/instagram/v1/user_id_to_username"
params = {
    "user_id": "18527"
}
response = requests.get(
    url, params=params, timeout=30,
    headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['TRMESH_API_TOKEN']}"},
)
response.raise_for_status()
payload = response.json()
print(payload) # Inspect the actual response before mapping fields
