You check Zhihu's hot list daily, but articles based on it often repeat existing news. The list can reveal discussion entrances. An editorial idea still needs a clear question that your readers would benefit from understanding.
Preserve the observation conditions
The contract supports a result limit and a desktop-related choice. Record these with the observation time. Different entrances should not be combined into an invented historical ranking. One retrieval does not describe the entire day's order.
Read the actual question behind the title
Inspect the issue, its context, and relevant sources separately. Emotional wording in a title may not represent the complete discussion. Popularity does not establish reliability. Identify which facts have support and which statements remain unconfirmed before drafting.
Choose an explanation you can contribute
A useful angle might clarify background, distinguish concepts, or address a common misunderstanding. State why that helps your audience and what evidence you need. If you cannot add reliable context, a ranked topic does not require production. Keep the source, time, proposed question, and research needs in the editorial card. Topics outside the list can still matter, and ranking is not a promise of readership.
