Select the discussions before retrieving them
If an article already has a shortlist of Reddit sources, submit up to five post IDs separated by commas in post_ids. This is a way to inspect known candidates, not a search operation. Write down why each was selected beforehand: installation experience, maintenance effort, or a usage limitation. A clear research purpose prevents the comparison criteria from changing opportunistically after you read the responses.
Match every result to its own question
Choose language and need_format for the reading workflow. When a particular comment matters, handle include_comment_id and comment_id carefully rather than assuming one comment belongs to every post. Reconcile each returned item with the requested identifier. Record missing or unusable material separately; one completed batch does not establish that every source has been checked successfully.
Assign evidence a role in the article
For a hypothetical comparison of three note-taking tools, label the candidate discussions as useful context, questions to verify, or material not being cited. These are editorial decisions, not automatic classifications. Personal experiences from different threads cannot be combined into a satisfaction statistic, especially when dates and usage conditions differ. The deliverable should identify arguments needing more evidence and sources worth reading further, rather than declaring a product winner from a handful of conversations.
