Similar names can lead to different people

A colleague planning a craft demonstration may send you only a nickname or an old screenshot. Find a reliable account source and obtain user_id before looking up user information. This operation checks an identified account; it does not search every person with a similar name. Avoid selecting a plausible-looking profile simply to complete the shortlist.

Record only what you can actually confirm

Compare the result with the original public profile and your existing records. A user-information lookup should not be described as a source of private contact details, income, or conclusive real-world identity verification. If the decision concerns creative direction, review the account’s published work rather than inferring ability from a portrait or short biography. Leave uncertain items unresolved and state what would establish them.

Separate verification from the invitation decision

For a hypothetical pottery event, your worksheet could contain the user identifier, public profile, review date, and a note to confirm whether the creator accepts in-person engagements. That assessment belongs to your planning process, not an automatic score. A successful lookup does not mean the person wants to collaborate. Use an appropriate contact channel they publicly provide, and pass a traceable account record to colleagues so the invitation is addressed to the intended creator.
